Yesterday, I called for a House Committee to investigate and move forward with impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

I’ve reached this decision with great sadness for our nation, but also with great anger on behalf of our nation. The fact is that Donald Trump has repeatedly broken laws and betrayed his oath of office. For three years he has displayed a contemptuous disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law. The latest news that he sought corrupt assistance from a foreign leader for his own selfish political gain is the final straw.

Any illegal misuse of the office of the presidency for private benefit is an impeachable act. I’m ready to hold President Trump accountable, and I need to know if you’re standing with me.
