Friends —

Last week we saw an attempt to subvert the will of American voters, and destroy our Democracy. While it ultimately failed, it is an important reminder of why we need more elected officials in office who will uphold the Constitution and not fan the flames of hatred or spread disinformation.

We have all been deeply affected by the actions of these extremists, but despite their best efforts, truth has won. We have won incredible Senate victories in Georgia, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be inaugurated on January 20th as President and Vice President.

In Georgia, the victories were a direct result of years of organizing and hard work by so many organizers and groups on the ground.

These victories give us hope - and Emerge believes that the entire South deserves to be treated like Georgia was for the last few weeks — that's why for the past several years we’ve invested in our affiliates in Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, Arkansas, Texas, and yes, Georgia. And, our resolve for change at the federal, state and local level is stronger than ever.

When we invest in electing Democratic women, progressives win, so that’s what we’ve done for the past fifteen years.

Emerge has grown from a single program to a national organization with 27 state affiliates, to train more than 4,000 alums in communities across the country.

Over the next 15 years, we’ll be laser-focused on expanding our reach, lifting as we climb, and repowering political structures to expand and build upon our initial investment in these communities. And, most importantly, centering our work on the New American Majority—Black, Brown and Indigenous women, LGBTQ+ women, young women and unmarried women. These are the communities changing elections in the South.

But it takes real resources to upend GOP strongholds and fight the status quo, and if we continue to put in the work, we can win. Please, make a contribution today to support our work building progress for the next 15 years and beyond. [link removed]

This email was sent to [email protected]. Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are working to bring their values up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities like the environment, accessible and affordable healthcare, social justice and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.

Email is the best way for us to keep you informed about what’s happening with our work. You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support—that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women.
