The Wisconsin State Senate will be voting very soon (as in yet this afternoon) on a bill that would allow all employers, the Department of Health Services (DHS) and local health officers to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine.

Last week, the State Assembly passed a COVID-related bill (Assembly Bill 1 as amended) that included language that would prohibit COVID-19 vaccine mandates by employers, DHS, and local health officers. Late yesterday, the State Senate leadership introduced a "substitute amendment" that removes this language, meaning employers, DHS and local health authorities in Wisconsin could mandate the vaccine.. The Senate is scheduled to vote on this substitute amendment yet this afternoon. 

Wisconsin Family Action believes whether a person receives or does not receive a vaccine is a personal decision. However, we believe no one should be forced to take a vaccine, including the COVID-19 vaccine.

WHAT  YOU CAN DO:

Immediately call your state senator and ask him/her to vote NO on Senate Substitute Amendment 1 to Assembly Bill 1.Ask them to insist that this vaccination protection language be included in any COVID-related legislation the Senate passes.
