Hi,

After inciting a violent insurrection last week -- and with impeachment proceedings moving forward -- Donald Trump had the nerve to show his face in Texas today.

Trump spent the last four years stoking hatred, sowing division, and doing harm to the American people -- nowhere moreso than in Texas. He tried to build a stupid wall no one wants through our communities. He poured gasoline on the fire of white supremacy. And during the coronavirus pandemic -- aided and abetted by Texas Republicans -- Trump literally left Texans to die.

Now, during the final days of his presidency, Trump is traveling to Texas in a desperate attempt to find a microphone and a chance to claim success anywhere. He's a disgrace who wants to pick a fight and make himself the center of attention. But we won't let him. Trump's wall failed. His presidency failed. And his effort to divide us will ultimately fail. We will hold Trump and his allies accountable, but we are reclaiming our attention and focusing on our communities.

We have a whole lot to do to fight for Texas families, and that's what we need to focus on -- not a failed president leaving office in disgrace. Here's how Texas Democrats can show our unity and strength today:

First, let's show our support for organizations working on the ground in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond to counter the harm done by Trump Republicans.
