John,
While many conservative and libertarian groups simply rolled over and accepted the unconstitutional, business- and livelihood-destroying lockdowns and other restrictions imposed unilaterally by so many governors in response to the pandemic …

… your National Center and our Project 21 actively fought back.

In fact, the National Center was one of the few early voices questioning the heavy-handed response of our various state governments to the pandemic.

We knew that this wasn’t just about slowing the spread of the virus, but about advancing the left’s Big Government priorities.

When the $2.2 trillion dollar CARES Act was making its way through Congress with bipartisan support, I went public with strongly worded reasons why conservatives should oppose this boondoggle.

I pointed out that much of the spending had nothing to do with containing the coronavirus. And I warned of the long-term damage to liberty and economic vitality if we did not restrain the totalitarian impulses of state and local politicians. My criticisms earned extensive media coverage. And I am proud to say that 2020 saw more new supporters join NCPPR ranks than at any other time in our recent history.

In May, we released Beyond COVID-19: Blueprint for Restoring Liberty, Rebuilding the Economy Safeguarding Public Health, and Responding to Crises.”
Our blueprint includes 54 specific, liberty-focused recommendations for combatting the pandemic while preserving liberty and the American economy, among them …
  • withholding federal aid from local governments that unduly infringe upon citizens’ rights;
  • withdrawing from the World Health Organization (WHO);
  • expanding Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States (CFIUS) scrutiny of Chinese investments in the U.S.; and,
  • repealing “Certificate of Need” laws that restrict the number of beds and other equipment at hospitals.
Three of the Blueprint’s recommendations were adopted by the Trump Administration. In May, for example, President Trump announced the U.S. would withdraw from the WHO. Right after he made his announcement, I praised his decision in a column for Congressional Quarterly.

 “Beyond COVID-19” and the National Center’s other coronavirus-related work received an enormous amount of media attention, including dozens of published commentaries and television and radio interviews.

John, will you help us continue our fight against the "Lockdown Left" with your most generous gift possible?

As you have seen, we are facing a more radicalized, more motivated left-wing than ever before. To save freedom in America, we have to keep confronting them!

Please take this important opportunity to help the National Center for Public Policy Research achieve even bigger success in 2021.

I thank you so much for standing with me and the National Center for Public Policy Research.
