Good morning, and welcome to our weekly digest of current volunteer legal projects.

The MLK Day of Service is next Monday, January 18, and we're excited to highlight six opportunities for lawyers to honor the legacy of Dr. King by donating their time to worthy projects and organizations.

We have nearly 40 legal projects that need your help:


** 11—20 HOURS

Civil Rights Corps

Help victims of police violence, abuse, and other misconduct in Houston by interviewing them, preparing materials, and/or representing them in court. This is a remote project and does not require a license to practice in Texas.

The Learning Accelerator

An organization focused on education innovation and empowering teachers needs help understanding a copyright issue surrounding one of their most popular resources for teachers.

Write Briefs for Immigrants Seeking Asylum ([link removed])

Keep Tucson Together

A nonprofit supporting immigrants seeking asylum for reasons including fear of cartel violence and political persecution needs lawyers to write briefs. This is a remote project and does not require a license to practice in Arizona.

Help survivors of workplace sexual harassment understand their legal options.

Aliento Education Fund

Inform and educate immigrants on their legal case, options, and possible reliefs that they might be eligible for. Must be licensed in Arizona.

Help Low-Income People Struggling to Afford Care ([link removed])

Health Law Advocates

Represent victims of improper medical billing and people seeking charitable forgiveness of medical debt because of financial hardship. Must be licensed in Massachusetts.
