Hi there,
A new report finds a record number of hurricanes, wildfires, and floods -- all exacerbated by climate change -- wrought $210 billion in global damages last year. And while we scramble to address this growing emergency, Trump’s four years of slashing environmental regulations, propping up fossil fuels, and turning a blind eye to pollution have taken us backwards.
Now, with a Democratic Senate on the way, we know that real climate action is finally possible in Washington. President-elect Biden has put forward ambitious plans to eliminate carbon emissions and enhance our nation’s clean energy creators.
But even on our side of the aisle, not everyone’s on the same page. As Scientific American warns, Democrats from fossil fuel producing states like West Virginia and Michigan may be reluctant to fight on the front lines for renewable energy. And with a razor thin majority, it’s easy to see those ambitious plans getting cast aside if politics gets in the way.
That’s why we need to hear from you now:
Do you think Democrats should pass sweeping climate change legislation?
