Republican National Committee members have elected Chairman Steve Pearce to serve on the RNC’s Budget Committee. Pearce was elected at the annual RNC Winter Meeting in Amelia Island, Florida. He was nominated by New Mexico National Committeeman and New Mexico House Minority Leader Jim Townsend. New Mexico National Committeewoman Tina Dziuk and Solomon Yue, National Committeeman of the Republican Party of Oregon, seconded the nomination. Pearce will help oversee the RNC budget and help make key decisions regarding Party’s fiscal and spending policies. The Committee provides budget planning for Conventions, battleground races and presidential elections.
 

Otero County Commissioner and Cowboys for Trump founder Couy Griffin continues to stir controversy. Griffin, who attended the Washington rally that led to the violence at the U.S. Capitol, warned of future violence and “blood running out of that building.” He defending the riot and called for more in the future.

SANTA FE STORE TO PAY MORE THAN $79,000 TO STATE AS PART OF GOVERNOR’S PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER

The state continues to unfairly target businesses with fines. O’Reilly Automotive Stores will pay a $79,200 penalty to the state of New Mexico as part of a settlement for violating state rules regarding COVID-19 restrictions. The penalty was issued by the New Mexico Environment Derpartment. The store was cited for failing to enforce the use of face coverings by employees. The state also says the store failed to post signs requiring the use of face coverings. Again, businesses continue to suffer as a result of the state’s illogical and unjust policies.
