Dear National Park Advocate,
During this global week of action on climate as NPCA joins young
activists across the country, and as the United Nations meets to
discuss our collective future, we must call on decisionmakers to
tackle climate change immediately.

Recent studies -- including NPCA's own -- show that nearly every
one of our more than 400 national parks is negatively affected by air
and climate pollution. Much of that pollution is also to blame for
extreme trends in temperature, precipitation, and early onset of
spring in more than 80 percent of our national parks.
We can't afford inaction any longer.
This is why today park advocates nationwide are taking a stand and
doing their part to clear the air and solve the climate crisis!

Unfortunately, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the very
agency charged with creating laws to protect human health and the
environment, isn't helping the situation. In fact, they're
making it worse.
This administration is prioritizing polluters' interests over
our health and public lands by rolling back and weakening clean air
and climate protections and shirking U.S. responsibilities to join
global action to address the climate crisis.
We deserve better and together we can change this. Tell Congress to
keep the U.S. in the Paris Climate Agreement and to hold the EPA
accountable to its mission by protecting -- not undermining -- the
laws that reduce air and climate pollution in our national parks.

For decades, NPCA and advocates just like you have been successful in
safeguarding our national parks -- including wildlife and visitors --
from the impacts of air pollution and climate change.
Together, we've made sure federal and state agencies followed
the Clean Air Act to reduce haze by requiring the cleanup of more than
100 coal-fired power plants across the country reducing carbon
dioxide pollution and protecting national parks.
We must continue demanding clean air and climate protections for
people and our national parks. Tell your members of Congress we cannot
go backwards. We need strong clean air laws and climate action now!

Thank you for taking a stand for our national parks. Your action means
a lot.
Sincerely,
Ulla Reeves
Sr. Advocacy Manager, Clean Air Program
PS. We know from recent studies that personalized letters to members
of Congress can make a real difference. All it takes is a quick note
to let them know that you're a real person who cares deeply
about America's parks. So please, take an extra few seconds to
personalize your letter before you send it!
