Each year, fellow colleagues, allies, and friends come together to celebrate our shared work for economic, racial, and climate justice at the ALIGN Movement Builders Awards. I’m honored that Sunrise Movement has been named one of this year’s Movement Builders, alongside George Miranda, President of Joint Council 16 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and Maurice Mitchell, National Director of the Working Families Party.

2019 has also been an exciting year for ALIGN, which has seen the hard work of organizing coalitions and campaigns yield inspiring wins on climate action and holding corporate greed accountable to our neighborhoods and workers.
But ALIGN’s impact goes far beyond these exciting wins –ALIGN’s work over nearly a decade has been critical to creating the path that we’re on now toward a more truly progressive state. Join me in celebrating the progress we are making together and supporting ALIGN to continue their central work in building our shared movement.
