Team, Donald Trump must be removed from office immediately. America just witnessed the most violent, deadly, and destructive assault on the U.S. Capitol since the War of 1812. Incited and fueled by Donald Trump, this domestic terrorist attack was carried out by insurrectionists — many associated with white nationalist groups — with the intent of overtaking the Capitol, overturning the election, and undermining our democracy. I was one of the first Members of Congress to call for Donald Trump's impeachment last week because it is obvious: He must go. He is a direct threat to our democracy and continues to have control over the military, intelligence, and law enforcement agencies. Now, more than 250 members of Congress have joined me in supporting impeachment — but a vote on it still isn't expected until mid-week. This can't wait. People all across America have already waited long enough for Donald Trump to be held accountable. We know that Mike Pence isn't going to do the right thing and remove this president, so WE must. We need to impeach Trump RIGHT NOW.

This is about the safety and security of our country. This is about protecting our very democracy. This is about accountability and justice. I led the fight to impeach him in 2019 because he had abused the power of his office and put our country at risk.
