This week at Lame Duck Session the Illinois Democrats are trying to pass sweeping criminal justice reform legislation. To push this bill through an expedited session and against the recommendations of every law enforcement group in the state is irresponsible at best.?



This legislation will effectively defund any police department that does not comply with the extreme new requirements that will decrease protections for law-abiding citizens and their families.?



The truth is not afraid of transparency and a solution does not require silence. Our law enforcement heroes deserve a full debate during regular session on criminal justice reform--not a rushed product from a Lame Duck Session.
