In the wake of the attack at the U.S. Capitol, Ayanna Pressley, Cori Bush, and Ilhan Omar wasted no time in drafting legislation to appropriately respond to the attack on our democracy.
POPSUGAR wrote: “Where their counterparts hesitate, Black women in politics take action. They're among the first to demand change, despite rarely getting credit for effecting that change.”
Ayanna, Cori, and Ilhan are serving the people and movements that sent them to Congress. Ayanna and Ilhan introduced articles of impeachment against Donald Trump, and Cori has introduced legislation to expel GOP members who helped incite the attempted coup.
Today and every day, they are fighting to protect Black lives, working for economic justice, health justice, survivor justice and so much more.
