Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and more are lining up to endorse Amendment #4 because they want local solutions to local problems.

Constitutional Amendment #4 has broad support across the state and across the aisle.

People all across the state can agree: We need local solutions to local problems. So it is no wonder why so many elected officials, activist groups, economic development groups, and stakeholders of all stripes have signed on to help longtime residents stay in their homes through property tax incentives.

The Advocate urged voters recently to vote yes on Amendment 4 ([link removed]) , writing, "Bottom line: This amendment is about whether New Orleans should be able to pursue policies it deems worthwhile without being hamstrung by the state. We believe it should." In other words: We need a local solution to a local problem.

Since its inception, Constitutional Amendment #4 has enjoyed bipartisan support, because it is a common sense solution to the housing crisis in our city. Even though this amendment only applies to New Orleans, elected officials and housing advocates statewide are following the amendment closely, because it preserves New Orleans' culture and tax base, protecting Louisiana's economic engine.
