Friend,

On Jan. 6, as Congress undertook one of its most important duties - certifying the results of our free and fair presidential election - the U.S. Capitol was violently attacked. We've all seen the images by now, and the world is still united in shock by the blatant insurrection that attempted to overrun a symbol of our democracy.

Shock gave way to resolve. To strength. To action. Congress reconvened and certified the results of our democratic election.

And we reaffirmed that Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States.

But the most disturbing truth from the events that day is that President Trump incited the attack on our Capitol - on our democracy. In doing so, he violated his oath of office. President Trump poses a clear and present danger to the American people and our national security. He should immediately be removed from office.

The gravity of this moment means we must speak with one voice. Today, I'm asking you to join me by adding your name to this petition. Sign now to call on all federal officials with the power to do so to remove Donald Trump from office.

I stand with many others - including the National Association of Manufacturers - in supporting this effort, and I do not do so lightly. It's a dark moment in America, but together we can right our democracy and create a better day for these United States of America.

Thank you,

Gary Peters
