Friend,
Emergency food programs, like food banks and soup kitchens, are facing an unprecedented need right now, and are struggling to keep up with demand.
However, these crucial emergency support systems cannot be a long-term solution. That’s why HFA uses a two-pronged approach of direct service, to connect folks to the resources they need NOW, and advocacy, to alleviate emergency demand and create long term, effective solutions for the future.
Last year, government programs, like SNAP and WIC, provided 11 times the dollar amount of food to low-income Americans as did the combined efforts of every food charity in America. The facts demonstrate that the single best way – by far – to get the largest amount of food to the greatest number of people is to dramatically increase participation in pre-existing federal nutrition assistance programs such as SNAP and WIC, as well as new programs such as Pandemic EBT.
Can you contribute $10, $15, or $30 to our benefit outreach programs, so your gift helps MORE people, MORE quickly?
CONTRIBUTE
Systemic reform is necessary, and HFA is leading the charge to support struggling families today and alleviate the need for tomorrow. Will you join us?
Sincerely, Joel Berg, CEO
