Hi John,

Last year we exposed Iowa Select Farms using “ventilation shutdown” (VSD) to roast pigs alive, and we launched a direct action campaign that got the company to end these horrific mass killings. One of the people who made that happen is my friend Cheyanne Holliday. She chained herself to the fence of an ISF facility and prevented them from bringing in pigs to face this gruesome death.

Cheyanne was supposed to go to trial today, but we just heard from our lawyer in Iowa that the case is dismissed!

Why? Because we subpoenaed an Iowa Select Farms representative to testify and she refused. The company -- which not only inflicted this brutal torture on these poor animals, but has since fired four employees who disagreed with its decision to do VSD -- chose to drop the case instead of having to publicly defend their actions in court.

It’s clear we are on the right side of history. Even our opponents in animal agriculture know there is no defense for animal cruelty. And if we keep taking action, we can topple this weakening industry and build a future that is better for everyone. So will you join me in taking action today to expose the horrors of factory farming?

I’m still facing a felony prosecution for exposing VSD, and my trial could be happening as soon as next month. I need your help to make sure we can keep exposing the industry and winning in court.

Matt
