Vice President Joe Biden just put forth his plan to address “the climate emergency” facing our country:

Joe Biden calls for a Clean Energy Revolution which would achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Construct 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations by 2030. Immediately invest $400 million in green technology and research development

If elected, Biden is promising that his plan would transition us to a 100% clean energy economy in the next three decades.

From Day One, a Biden Administration would propose $1.7 trillion in investments toward renewable energy technology like electric vehicle infrastructure and in renewable energy itself in wind, solar, nuclear, and hydropower.

How would he pay for it?

Great question -- Biden’s plan would roll back the Trump-era billionaire tax cuts as well as shift fossil fuel subsidies to American-based renewable energy producers and manufacturers.

Additionally, it would comply with the timeline put forth by the Paris Climate Agreement and ensure the United States is leading the global effort to address what he coins the “climate emergency.”
