October is Anti-Stigma Month [[link removed]]!
Stigma associated with manufactured housing, the communities in which it is located and the people who dwell within have made manufactured housing seem like a last resort rather than a desirable choice. To combat this negative stigma, members of the I’M HOME Network are leading the Anti-Stigma campaign to dispel the myths around manufactured housing while highlighting the benefits such as the vibrant community of homeowners, affordable prices and desirable features tailored to owners’ needs.

A Unique Manufactured Housing Program Expanding Homeownership Opportunities in Rural KY [[link removed]]
In the past 20 years, fewer phenomena have had a greater impact on our communities than substance abuse. In the 1990s and early 2000s, we saw the impacts of methamphetamines even as the seeds of the opioid epidemic were being sown. That epidemic has drastically changed our communities, with individuals and families struggling emotionally, psychologically, interpersonally and economically with addiction and its consequences. Eight days after moving in, Rosa Sanchez learned that her mobile home park off Independence Boulevard was about to be for sale to a developer who would build luxury apartments on the property. The next year was a blur for Sanchez and her neighbors at Oakhaven Park but they ultimately walked away with more than most people who find themselves in their situation, housing experts say. Congratulations to I'M HOME Network Member Dwayne Keys from Compass Working Capital [[link removed]] in Rhode Island, the winner of Camp Prosperity [[link removed]] advocacy contest. The contest was open to camp attendees who met face-to-face with a legislator during August recess and logged the meeting in the Prosperity Now Advocacy Center. As the winner, he receives a complimentary registration to the 2020 Prosperity Summit which will be held Wednesday, September 30 - Friday, October 2, 2020 at the National Harbor in the Washington, DC.
