Donald Trump has railed for months against the results of November’s election. Trump falsely claimed that he had won and that Democrats stole his victory.

On January 6th, Trump summoned his supporters to Washington, D.C. He told the mob to storm the U.S. Capitol. Trump told them to fight. And as they smashed windows and assaulted overwhelmed security, Trump said nothing, refusing to tell them to stop or condemn their actions.

When he finally spoke, instead of calling for peace, Trump said, “We love you. You’re very special.”

Now Trump’s cabinet refuses to hold him accountable by invoking the 25th Amendment. There is another course. Congress must impeach Trump for his crimes against our democracy.
