Twenty-five (25) states, plus Washington, D.C., will increase their minimum wage in 2021. In nine of the states, the increase is the result of the minimum wage being indexed to inflation and adjusted annually.[1]

The largest increases will be found in Virginia ($7.25 to $9.50), New Mexico ($9.00 to $10.50), Oregon ($11.25 to $12.75), and Florida ($8.56 to $10.00).[1]

After the 2021 increases go into effect, the highest minimum wages will be found in Washington, D.C. ($15.00 per hour), California ($14.00 per hour), Washington state ($13.69 per hour), and Massachusetts ($13.50 per hour).[1]

In New York and Oregon, state laws provide for regional minimum wages.[1]
