Dear Neighbor,


In 2020, our federal government abdicated its duty to our nation, while hundreds of thousands lost their lives and loved ones.


A week into 2021, the President of the United States has already attempted to undermine our democracy—inciting violence that empowered his supporters to violently storm the Capitol.


Let’s be clear: Donald Trump must be impeached and arrested.


But, the issues laid bare by four years of his actively racist, anti-immigrant administration and an unprecedented public health crisis, will not go away with his removal.


We need to use this year to take bold actions to radically change and reimagine the systems that got us here.


While I am hopeful for what a Biden presidency and Democratic leadership in Congress could mean for our communities, change starts at a local and state level. This is where the true political power is.
