Mitch McConnell is already trying to distance himself from Trump, especially after the coup attempt and attack on the Capitol. But we won't let Mitch ever live down his role in creating the Trump administration and its legacy.

Mitch McConnell helped Donald Trump take over our country's judiciary. Trump got three Supreme Court justices in four years as president -- Barack Obama barely got two justices in 8 years.

When you consider the 200 federal judges -- all serving life terms -- that the Republicans have installed since 2016, you start to see why the GOP is holding out hope that they can make Biden a "failed" president.

But there's hope. Democrats have kept the House and FLIPPED the Senate -- we now have that much more room to make progress on the pandemic, the environment, health care, and much more.

The bad news is that Republicans stopped us from getting a Senate supermajority. They can still block legislation; they can stop President-elect Biden from enacting his agenda. Then, after McConnell has obstructed everything Biden has tried to accomplish, the GOP will campaign against Biden as a "failed" president in 2024.

We are fighting every day to stop the GOP from succeeding. We are giving our Democratic leaders the resources they need to win and then to govern. We're sticking up for progressive policies, the right to vote, and the voices of our scientists and experts.

But the unexpected challenges of a brutal and lengthy campaign have exhausted our reserves. We can't do our best work if we don't hit our fundraising goals -- and right now, we're falling very short.

You're the best hope we have. There's no one more engaged, more informed, more upset about the GOP's transgressions, or more inspired about the good Democrats can accomplish in 2021.
