Hi Supporter,
Tomorrow we’re kicking off our first-ever virtual 1.5 New Year Challenge. So far 319 people have committed to do an activity every day, like a 15 minute workout or a 1.5 mile walk, jog, bike ride, etc. through Febrary 12.

Will you join the 1.5 Challenge?
Why 1.5? 2020 was the end of the hottest decade on record, according to the UN. We’re in a climate crisis. We must keep global temperature increases (from pre-industrial levels) under 1.5 degrees Celsius in order to prevent the worst impacts, from extreme weather to food scarcity and beyond.

2021 is a crucial year for us to come together for the future health of our planet and generations to come.
We must demand policy change, modify our daily habits, and address inequities, like access to clean water and air, that impact marginalized communities. So we’re organizing a virtual fundraiser:
-
You can register with a $35 donation.
-
You can register with a $35 donation AND create a fundraising & activity tracking page (you’ll get a ‘Doing Good By Nature’ hat when you raise $100).
The money you raise will support Sierra Club's initiatives like retiring coal plants, moving away from fossil fuels, and transitioning to clean energy, like solar and wind, in an equitable and just way.
When you join, you'll get an invitation to the 1.5 Challenge Facebook Group for community support, a calendar where you can track and plan your activity, and more information on how to be proactive in the climate crisis.

So will you start the New Year as a part of Team Sierra and take action for the planet?
Thanks,
