Ted Cruz once again showed his disdain for democracy. Prior to the unprecedented scenes at the Capitol yesterday, Cruz lead a group of House and Senate GOP representatives to try and decertify the election results. Even after Congress had to recess and reconvene later due to the violence and insurrection encouraged by his own words, Ted Cruz continued his disgusting show and continued to trample on the Constitution.
Cruz and his cabal wrote of "unprecedented allegations of voter fraud, violations and lax enforcement of election law, and other voting irregularities," proposing to create a special commission that would overturn the legitimate results of a democratic election.
What evidence did Cruz have of this nationwide conspiracy? Absolutely none -- but for him, that was no problem at all. Cruz isn't that kind of lawyer. After all, he didn't care about the facts when he helped steal the election for George W. Bush in 2000.
As Chris Hayes points out, "They've spent months lying to people, telling them the election was stolen, and now turn around and cite the fact that many people believe them as evidence!"
This just proves what we feared all along, friend -- that Ted will pull out every single tool in his corrupt bag of tricks to sabotage the government and our country. You think this month's inauguration is the end of the road for Cruz control? Actually, it's just getting started. And we need to be ready for everything he throws at us.
