In just a moment, we are going to ask you to make a contribution to help advance the fight to make our communities safer from gun violence. Please give us a chance to explain why this request — especially today — is so important.

Over the last decade, the politics of gun safety have shifted dramatically in our favor, and in less than two weeks, we’ll have a new president.

This is our best opportunity to create national change in a long time. And whatever happens next, our organization Giffords, and Gabby specifically, will be at the forefront of that fight.

So today, we are kicking off a 72-Hour fundraising drive so we are ready for 12:01pm on January 20. This could be our moment, and we need to be ready. So we are asking:

Gabby has long said the struggle would not be easy, and that success would not come fast. But everything we’ve done over the course of the past 8 years has led to this moment. And if we can make the most of it, we can save lives.
