Africa & Europe
- Praise God for convictions this week in Ghana. Two traffickers were convicted and sentenced to prison time, while also being ordered to pay damages to two trafficking survivors. Pray that the survivors would receive the restitution that is due to them, and that this conviction would spark a change of heart for the two traffickers.
Latin America
- Praise God our prayers to bring an end to child marriage in the Dominican Republic continue to bear fruit! On January 6, the country's President modified the Civil Code and other laws eliminating all legal exceptions that allowed child marriage. This is a historic day for the Dominican Republic! Yet, to ensure this ban is comprehensive and starts producing necessary change, our team continues to advocate for the Constitutional Court to declare child marriage unconstitutional so that other laws can be reformed. Pray for the implementation of this ban to be swift, just and successful in ensuring that children are protected from this harmful practice.

- Pray for our staff and partners in South Asia working with state police on an initiative called "Project Shield." This campaign seeks to help vulnerable women and children learn about their rights and how to approach police, particularly for cases of trafficking or gender-based violence. Instead of feeling afraid or ashamed, we hope this collaborative campaign will help women feel confident, empowered and trusting. Praise God for our dedicated police partners who are leading awareness events around the state, and pray for good reception with women in these communities.
Southeast Asia
- Pray for IJM's work in Myanmar as the team finalizes agreements with new partners and establishes office processes. Pray alongside this team for more cases that will allow them to serve people who have been trafficked for labor, partnering with government agencies to ensure they are protected and receive justice.
