John — It was a genuine honor this past weekend to be sworn in for another term as a member of the House of Representatives. Much has happened since then, but I will never stop standing up for you and the people of Pennsylvania.
Understandably, this news has fallen under the radar the past few days. But we did have a few important policy victories at the end of the last Congress: *
My
Streamlining
Energy
Efficiency
for
Schools
Act
was
officially
enacted.
This
legislation
will
help
protect
our
environment
by
improving
energy
efficiency,
will
help
students
learn
and
improve
test
scores
by
providing
better
learning
conditions,
while
also
saving
our
schools
much-needed
money
by
updating
their
inefficient
heating,
cooling
and
ventilation
systems.
*
We
allocated
$730
million
to
expand
broadband
internet
in
rural
America.
The
COVID-19
pandemic
has
made
it
clearer
than
ever
that
every
American
needs
fast,
reliable
internet
access
to
tap
into
our
modern
economy.
*
We
passed
the
No
Surprises
Act
,
which
will
end
surprise
health
care
billing
for
patients.
This
means
that
patients
will
only
be
responsible
for
their
usual
in-network
cost-sharing
amounts
and
deductibles.
While I am proud of these accomplishments, John, I know there is still so much left to do.
For example, we passed a compromise COVID-19 relief passage that President Trump signed into law, but Mitch McConnell killed a House bill that would have increased the stimulus checks to $2,000. With a Democratic Senate and a President Joe Biden, I’m optimistic we’ll be able to pass more relief.
We need to make this next term of Congress one that is truly focused on the people — not partisan politics. That’s what I pledge to do. Will you join this mission with me by pitching in a $15 or $20 donation today? Every dollar helps us expand our movement and push for policies that help working Americans. [[link removed]]
Thank you for your support, and onward!
