"I can’t help but think of refugees we serve who have fled violent political turmoil in Afghanistan, Iraq, and beyond. The United States promised to be a beacon of democracy and stability where the will of the people matters. It is shameful that this White House has taken, and continues to take, so many actions that undermine that promise."

We, like so many others, were devastated by the riot at the Capitol. LIRS CEO Krish O'Mara Vignarajah issued a statement condemning the violence.

BIG NEWS!
On Friday, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of LIRS against a Trump administration executive order requiring state and local governments to "opt in" to refugee resettlement in their jurisdictions. As CEO Krish O'Mara Vignarajah said, "this ruling provides critical relief for those who have been waiting for years to reunite with their families."
