We did it, John.
Moments ago, Twitter announced that they have permanently suspended Donald Trump’s account “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”

Thousands of Women’s Marchers have been calling for this victory for years – and together we WON.
Our movement has been putting pressure on Twitter to ban Trump for years – even when people told us it was impossible. But nevertheless, we persisted.
In May 2019, we delivered over 300,000 petition signatures with our partners to Twitter's headquarters to demand that the company #SuspendTrump. We made so much noise that the company was forced to respond and sent Women’s March a personal letter:
We didn’t stop there. We kept fighting and demanding more even after Twitter began flagging his Tweets for disinformation. Since then, another 169,742 Women’s Marchers have signed our petitions.
And today we won.
This is a huge victory for our democracy and a massive win for our broader work to stop the spread of disinformation online. We must uphold the truth, starting in the White House.
We have a lot of work planned to keep fighting disinformation online. If you’re in a place to chip in to help us continue this work, please make a donation below:

Thank you for being a part of this movement. We can achieve the impossible when we work together.
With gratitude,
