Our Recent Work:
------------------------------------------------------------
* YouTube Still Awash in False Voter Fraud Claims: On December 22, CfA's Tech Transparency Project (TTP) released a report revealing that YouTube is failing to remove new videos spreading baseless conspiracies about widespread voter fraud, despite the company’s Dec. 9 announcement that it would take down such content. In the days following the announcement, TTP easily found examples of new videos spreading disinformation on YouTube, often racking up thousands of views.

* Apple is Censoring Political Apps in its China App Store: On December 23, TTP released a report questioning Apple’s role in the censorship of politically sensitive apps on its China App Store. Although the company claims that the majority of apps removals in the Chinese market were related to apps deemed illegal under Chinese law, TTP's investigation showed that Apple may be taking a greater role in censoring apps in the Chinese marketplace than it acknowledges.

* CfA Complaint Reveals Likely Illegal Partnership Between Georgia GOP & Fraudulent Nonprofit: On December 28, filed a complaint with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) against True the Vote, Inc. (TTV) for engaging in political activity in violation of its status as a charitable 501(c)(3) organization.
+ The complaint was covered by David Wickert ([link removed]) of The Atlanta Constitution Journal.

* Apple Supplier Lens Technology Linked to Forced Labor, Records Show: Yesterday, TTP released a report containing evidence that a key supplier of touch screens for Apple products, Chinese company Lens Technology, has used thousands of minority laborers from Xinjiang under China’s repressive forced labor program. The evidence, combined with TTP’s August report ([link removed]) on Apple uniform supplier Esquel and other research, brings the number of Apple suppliers who have been credibly tied to China’s forced labor program to five.
+ The information discovered by TTP was covered by Reed Albergotti ([link removed]) of The Washington Post.
