John—

This is a dark moment for our country, on the heels of a year that had no shortage of dark moments.

Today, I’m looking back on a dark moment 10 years ago, when a shooter killed six people and injured me and 12 others in Tucson.

I wrote about what this anniversary means to me in the New York Times. [[link removed]] I hope you’ll read and share my reflections on what the last 10 years have brought, and what the next 10 might bring.

I am so grateful to be with you today, in spirit if not in person. I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made this past decade, for the safety of my husband following Wednesday’s chaos, and for you.

Hope is a muscle. When you use it, it grows more powerful. Thank you for standing with us in solidarity and in hope.

With gratitude,
Gabby
