Oklahoma Senator, Representatives Must Resign

Oklahoma City—January 7, 2021—In the aftermath of the mob riot at the US Capitol yesterday, the Oklahoma Democratic Party is calling out the traitorous actions of Oklahoma’s Washington delegation.

Oklahoma Democratic Party Calls for Lankford to Resign if He Objects to Senate Electoral Vote

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, January 6, 2021 – It is despicable and shameful that Lankford disrespects the people's will by objecting to the January 6th Electoral Senate Vote in a childish stunt. Black Caucus Opposes Electoral Objection by Lankford, Others

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Legislative Black Caucus strongly opposes objections to the certification of the Electoral College count by at least 13 Republican senators, including Oklahoma Senator James Lankford, 140 Republican members of the US Congress, including Oklahoma’s Reps. Kevin Hern and Markwayne Mullin.

“All fair votes of the people should count and not be overthrown,” said State Rep. Regina Goodwin, chair of the Oklahoma Black Caucus. “Democracy should not be destroyed. President-elect Biden and Vice-President-elect Harris won. Despicable lies do not prove otherwise.” Read more...

Due to the vacancy of Senate District 22, Oklahoma will hold a special election on April 6th, 2020.

Two Democratic candidates have filed to run for Senate District 22. A Democratic Primary Special Election will be held on February 9th to determine who will be the Democratic nominee to run in the general special election on April 6th. More election information is listed below.

Primary Democratic Special Election
Early Voting: February 4-5 (Thursday-Friday) 8AM-6PM
General Voting: February 9 (Tuesday) 7AM-7PM

General Special Election
Early Voting: April 1-2 (Thursday-Friday) 8AM-6PM
General Voting: April 6 (Tuesday) 7AM-7PM

Absentee ballot (Vote By Mail) request deadline:
Absentee ballots must be requested by 5 p.m. on the Wednesday preceding the election.


2021 STATE ORGANIZATIONAL CONVENTION - SAVE THE DATES

Precinct Meetings*- March 11, 7 PM
County Conventions** - April 3, 10 AM or 2 PM
District Conventions*** - May 1, 10 AM or 2 PM
State Convention - June 12-13, 10 AM

* The County Central Committee of a county, with ten (10) or fewer total delegates, may vote to call precinct meetings on the same date specified in Bylaw 1: B, for the County Convention at a time prior to the County Convention, and shall mail a call for both the precinct and county meetings on the date required for precinct calls in Bylaw 2.

** County Conventions shall meet at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. on the fourth (4th) Saturday following Precinct Committee meetings, or any day within seven (7) days of the required meeting date.

*** The Congressional District Conventions shall meet at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. on the fourth (4th) Saturday following the County Convention meetings, or any day within seven (7) days of the required meeting date.
