Team, Wednesday was a dark day in our country's history.

Emboldened and incited by Donald Trump, domestic terrorists launched the most violent assault on the U.S. Capitol since the War of 1812 in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election and attack our democracy. Five lives were lost.

Pramila and all of us at Team Jayapal are safe. But we're clear-eyed and undeterred about the work ahead.

Pramila quickly called on Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to immediately remove Donald Trump by invoking the 25th Amendment. Not long after, she called on Congress to urgently reconvene and signed on to once again to impeach this president.

With 12 days to go until inauguration day, we'll undoubtedly be told these fights are in vain. We'll be told to just let it go. But we can't.
