How beer distributors are being used to help stop human trafficking

Collectively, American beer distributors have access to 600,000 retail locations across the country -- many of which could potentially be sites of human trafficking. "We don't need a subpoena to walk into a permitted location, ask to see the books and inspect the facility," said Bentley Nettles, executive director of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. This is why NBWA launched the Distributors Against Human Trafficking initiative in July 2020, which has already trained 6,000 beer distribution employees, and why they are encouraging more beer distributors to complete their online training during National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month this January.

Bud Light to launch hard seltzer lemonade

If you thought hard seltzer was going to fizzle out in 2021, think again. Not only did Truly Hard Seltzer release their iced tea variant earlier this week, now Bud Light is planning to launch a line of hard seltzer lemonades. Nielsen data shows that the hard seltzer lemonade segment is growing much faster than hard seltzer itself, despite only seeing $313.97 million in retail sales in 2020.
