Thank You!

We want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supported our end-of-year fundraising - you keep us fighting for awesome public transit for all! We received hundreds of donations, big and small, including from 25 brand new members. Welcome!

With all the work we have ahead of us, the good news is that this year will bring us a new Senate and a new president who understands the importance of public transit. There's a real potential for greater funding for public transit - but we need to keep speaking up for it.

To keep speaking effectively, we of course need your support. We've raised about 3/4 of our goal of $30,000. Frankly, we're pretty proud of (and very grateful for) the amount of support we're getting even during this difficult time. And it's never too late - if you're able to chip in to get us closer to our goal, we could sure use the help!

Looking Forward to 2021

With your support, we are ready to take on the transit challenges of 2021. We are leading the movement for strong transit priority projects, to make them real transit-first projects that serve riders best.

Sharing the lane with turning cars is a recipe for train delays.

To kick off the new year, we saw the start of an overdue improvement for the T Third. SFMTA will begin to get cars out of the way of the tracks with this pilot project, before T Third trains return January 23. The T Third has never functioned well, and we know the 4th Street Bridge is a major bottleneck impacting riders across the city. Stay tuned to get involved in fixing the T Third.

Throughout the year we'll see a series of other transit priority pilots roll out. It's up to us to make sure the good ones become permanent, and to speak up for riders' needs on ones that don't go far enough.

On Mission Street, Laguna Honda, California St, Geary Blvd, 19th Ave, and more, we'll need to show up to with the rider's voice - YOUR voice - and make sure we get public transit that really serves us. Each of these projects adds up to a strong start of a real 30x30 network.

Another major focus this year will be securing funding for Muni. Remember the operator shortage last year? Muni could barely afford provide all the service it promised. The financial picture is that much more dire now.

Help us take on these challenges, and more, in 2021!

Tuesday, January 12: What does a Biden Administration mean for transit?

Speaking of the new federal picture, join us and our friends Streets for People for an in-depth discussion with Scott Goldstein, Policy Director at Transportation for America.

What does a Biden administration mean for local transit funding? What sort of Secretary of Transportation will Pete Buttegieg be? Learn more about how the federal government can impact local transit and bring your questions.
