By now you know 2021 is a big election year for New Orleans and that Mayor LaToya Cantrell is running for re-election to build on the success of her first term. And after almost three years in office, what word best describes her first term? Historic.
 

Mayor Cantrell is a history maker.

As the first woman to serve as mayor of New Orleans, she has shattered many glass ceilings. In her first year in office, she negotiated the historic Fair Share Agreement to secure unprecedented investments in our city's infrastructure. This past year she's relied on data and science to respond to a public health crisis that's unlike anything we've seen in a hundred years. And on her watch, New Orleans established its first Human Right Commission to fight discrimination and hate in our city.
