Dear John,

Fighting for the right to vote – the very foundation of our democracy – has always been at the core of our mission here at VoteRiders. And it always will be.

On Tuesday, amidst a global pandemic and countless barriers to the polls, we saw the culmination of our collective efforts. Record numbers of Georgians cast their ballots in historic runoff elections – demonstrating the power and the promise of our democracy.

Mere hours later, we witnessed a direct attack on the very functioning of that democracy in enacting the will of the People – demonstrating just how much is at stake.

There are not enough words to convey our gratitude for the tireless dedication and generosity of our volunteers, our staff, our partners and our donors. We cannot let what happened in the Capitol on Wednesday undermine what we have accomplished together. We made history.

The voice of the People will be heard – and that voice is more diverse and more robust than ever as a result of your monumental efforts.

This fight to defend and strengthen our democracy is not over – and, therefore, neither is our work here at VoteRiders. Officials in numerous states, including Georgia, are gearing up to make voter ID laws even more onerous.

We must, and will, continue to work around the clock to prevent more and more Americans from being stripped of their fundamental right to vote. It is clear that we each have a tremendous responsibility at this moment. Our actions - or inaction - will have consequences for generations to come.

So thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for staying in this fight with us. Together, we can and will protect our democracy – and, together, realize a more perfect Union.

With our gratitude,

Kathleen and the VoteRiders Team
