For years, President Trump stoked the fear, hatred, and division that have been festering in our nation. Now, that hatred and fear have spilled over into an act of domestic terrorism. After Trump lied to his supporters for weeks and months about the outcome of the election, citing baseless accusations of fraud, their rage finally reached a fever pitch.
Trump’s behavior has always been incendiary and appalling, but after years of carefully grooming his own private army of insurrectionists, he deployed them yesterday: urging them to march to the U.S. Capitol building and give Congressional Republicans “the kind of pride and boldness they need to take back our country.”
This attempt to overturn the election results cannot be ignored, and President Trump MUST be removed from office immediately.

Despite the unprecedented events yesterday afternoon, many Congressional Republicans were undeterred in their efforts to challenge the election outcomes once Congress resumed, and too few have been willing to condemn Trump’s behavior.
Off Capitol Hill, the call for Trump’s removal has been widespread and bipartisan.
Editorial boards, organizations, corporations, and everyday Americans all agree that Trump’s behavior is reckless and irresponsible – demonstrating just how unfit he is for office.
How we got to this point is clear, how we choose to respond to it is another thing altogether.
In 13 days, Trump will no longer be president after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are sworn into office, and for that we are grateful. But we cannot risk finding out what other dangerous and reprehensible actions Trump may take as his desperation to cling to power grows.
Our democracy hangs in the balance.
