I’m Gary Chambers and I’m running for Congress in Louisiana. Let me tell you a bit about me:
I’m a community activist based in Baton Rouge. I’m a simple, God-fearing man, a minister of the gospel, family-focused, and a business owner. My mission is to Do Good and Seek Justice.
Last month, President-elect Biden tapped Rep. Cedric Richmond to join his administration. Rep. Richmond was the only Democrat and only Black member of Louisiana's congressional delegation. I’m running because I want to make sure we elect a PROGRESSIVE black activist to replace Rep. Richmond in the upcoming special election in Louisiana.
After watching the domestic terrorist events that took place in D.C. this week I am assured we need a different style of leadership in Washington. Leadership that won’t back down to bullies, and will stand to protect the voting rights of citizens in every corner of this country.
As an activist, I’ve seen the power of a community coming together to create change. But I also know that building that power takes work, so it’s going to take a lot of people believing in this movement to send me to Congress so that we can continue the fight for Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and transformative justice.
Together, we can make change. I know we can. But it’s going to take thousands of us standing together and demanding that chance. Will you take the first step by making a gift and becoming a founding donor to my campaign today?

I’m running for Congress because I know that the struggle for a better, more just Louisiana will require all of us to work together and create change.
I’m running for Congress because I want to help my community build our power and put in the work to build a better future for our children.
And I’m running for Congress because I’m just sick of the people in Washington playing with us. This isn’t hard -- we need representation who does right by the people who vote. And guess what? Corporations don’t vote.
It’s clear we need better leadership in Washington. So I’m running for Congress to be that better leadership.
