From the moment he took power as president, Donald Trump has proven again and again that he will encourage violence against Americans and our democratic system if that’s what it takes to advance his selfish interests.
His decision to stoke a mob of domestic terrorists with traitorous lies before they stormed our capitol is shocking but entirely consistent with his unAmerican presidency.
This desecration of our democracy can not be allowed to stand. That’s why I am proud to let you know that we are once again moving forward with impeaching President Trump — unless Vice President Pence does the right thing and initiates the 25th amendment process for removal.
Enough is enough. We can no longer allow domestic enemies of our democracy to attack our elections.
President Donald J. Trump is an unAmerican criminal — exactly the kind of domestic enemy that our founders warned us about. That’s why I fought so hard to impeach him — he is wholly unfit to lead the United States.
Here in America, we don’t let the terrorists win.
That’s why I’m so proud to report that we did not let Donald Trump’s terrorist mob stop us from doing our duty to certify the 2020 election results.
Nothing will stop American democracy. We sent that message loud and clear by staying up until 4 AM to do the people’s business and confirm Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States.
And we will send that message again by holding President Trump accountable for his crimes. Here in America, nobody is above the law.
