As we reflect on the events of this week, the American Foundation for SuicidePrevention condemns the assault on Capitol Hill and the violence that ensuedas a riotous mob forced the evacuation of Congress. These events at ournation’s capital have been heartbreaking to watch unfold and were upsettingand traumatizing for many. This event, coupled with the recurring trauma ofviolence and racism, and our continued struggle with the effects of COVID-19,can take a toll on the mental health of ourselves and those we love.
