Folks,
Wednesday was a dark day in our country and history will tell of the unthinkable attack made on our democracy and national security.
The sitting president incited a violent mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol, putting lawmakers, citizens and residents of Washington D.C. in danger. President Trump’s words emboldened extremists to attack our very democracy, and then he praised them for their treasonist actions.
However, Congress did not allow this lawlessness to prevent us from fulfilling our constitutional duty to certify the Electoral College votes, and we affirmed President-elect Joe Biden’s White House victory.
American voters turned out in record numbers to elect our next president — and it is our duty to respect the will of the people and work to unite and restore our republic.
In 12 days, we will ensure the peaceful transfer of power and President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be sworn in.
Remember that no matter what future challenges we face, we must never stop fighting. Democracy will prevail.
Henry
