What incredibly strange times we are living in. I'll spare you all the talk we are hearing everywhere about how horrible the attack on the Capitol building was. It was horrendous, to anyone with a brain. But I did find it perfectly fitting to the trump era (I still refuse to capitalize his name) that these people stormed the building with no plan. Just wanted to cause chaos for their dumb dumb leader. Exactly like trump himself, he just causes chaos with no ideology beyond his own self. (And of course he aligns with and empowers every ignorant, hateful group. In part I'm sure because they are always the most gullible, the most easy to sway.) Anyway it's an odd start to the year. So I've decided not to call it that. Instead I'm seeing it as an extension of 2020. Until the inauguration, it's still 2020. So how is this fine December 39th treating you?
Do you have any resolutions planned for when 2021 starts? I've already started posting a “Minute with Gleib” five days a week on my IG, and my podcast “Last Week on Earth” is back weekly. My guests this week are the hilarious Sklar Brothers and Daniel Van Kirk in a "Dumb People Town" / "Last Week on Earth" crossover episode. We recorded hours after the insane attack on the Capitol, so we discuss that and lots of actually funny stuff. Plus coming soon I will also be releasing 5 standup clips every week on my socials, so stay tuned for that. We all need more laughter this year, so I'm stepping up my efforts to provide.
If you don't know, I have a great Patreon going with tons of perks, private hangs, behind the scenes stuff, and access to old comedy stuff from earlier in my career. Join HERE.
I also want to invite you to join the new facebook fan group that was started by a few of my awesome supporters...
Gleib Squad - Join HERE. The conversation goes all week.
Doing weekly virtual shows like I have been is challenging, but also the most fun I've had in a long time. And the VIP meet & greets after the shows have had so many interesting and touching moments. Together we have created an insanely fun community around my virtual comedy show “GLEIB OFF THE TOP: Crowd Work & Improvised Madness” that I do now weekly at Nowhere Comedy Club on Zoom. Our community is called the Mad Ones, because we all need a little madness to survive the craziness of the world right now. And these shows are just a totally silly, fun, laugh out loud release from it all.
If you haven't had the chance to catch one, I'd like to invite you this Saturday! “GLEIB OFF THE TOP: Crowd Work & Improvised Madness”. It's at 5pm pst. We've started electing a "Mayor of Mad Ones" every show and I am looking forward to appointing the newest Mayor! The hilarious Leah Lamarr joins me.
HERE is a link for a discount ticket.
There's also a very fun Facebook group that sprung up from the show, called the...
Mad Ones Town Council of Elders & Youngers - Join HERE.
People discuss all the Madness that ensues at the show, and it's a really great group of folks. I'm hopping into it a lot too.
Also, if you want to take advantage of the discount, you can get a ticket to other upcoming "GLEIB OFF THE TOP" shows on Jan. 16 HERE, Jan. 23 HERE, and Jan. 30 HERE.
Happy rest of December!
