Your right to vote your values is under attack - by the New York State Board of Elections!



We appreciate all of you who helped us spread the word last year about the attack on our ballot status by Gov. Cuomo and the Legislature. We celebrated after their first attempt was defeated in court.



You fought back again after Cuomo and the Legislature slipped the higher thresholds for gaining and maintaining ballot status into the pandemic emergency budget.



With the new thresholds taking immediate effect, giving us only a few months to mobilize during a presidential election where a near-total media black-out against the Hawkins-Walker ticket and “spoiler” fear mongering, we did not receive the 130,000 votes or 2% of the vote needed to maintain the Green Party’s ballot status.



But now many of you are receiving letters from your local county boards of election that makes it seem like you are no longer enrolled as a Green! Many have even been sent a voter registration form along with this letter - a blatant “bipartisan” attempt to encourage Greens to re-register in one of the corrupt corporate parties!



The truth is you have the right to remain a registered Green Party memberno matter what. We won a court case in 2002 against New York State to ensure your right to remain a Green, and for anyone to register as a Green by simply checking the “other” box on the voter registration form and writing in "Green". Do not be fooled by their blatant attempt to kill us off as a party.



The Green Party of New York will continue to exist as the independent, eco-socialist, activist and electoral party it has always been. 



We are fighting back. Our expert legal team has just filed an injunction as well as a lawsuit, jointly with the Libertarian Party, to stop the new thresholds from taking effect.



The support from you and your fellow Greens for our Ballot Line Protection efforts has been tremendous but to win this long battle we need your continued support.
