Your gender identity is valid

Hi Friend,

Today is International Non-Binary People’s Day. At The Trevor Project, we celebrate and embrace all gender identities beyond the binary. We also know that there are many people in the world who are unable to express their gender identity safely.

In fact, we hear from transgender and non-binary youth every day who feel alone, hopeless, or can’t be their true selves. According to our National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health, we found that more than half of non-binary young people had seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year. We hope to reach even more LGBTQ youth in need through the year, so, by next International Non-Binary People’s Day, we can hopefully see this number get closer to zero. Our mission at The Trevor Project is to end LGBTQ youth suicide and we will not stop fighting for those who need our support until that is realized.

Show your solidarity with the non-binary community on this day and share our message of support to your friends and family.

Gender identities beyond the binary have always existed, and non-binary people aren’t going anywhere. The Trevor Project will always be here for trans and non-binary youth — every day of the year, 24 hours a day.

In solidarity,
The Trevor Project
