Team,

Yesterday an armed mob stormed our Capitol and breached security in an attempt to derail our democracy. What we all witnessed should chill Americans to their core, and President Donald Trump was responsible. I am very grateful that my team is all safe, and I'm ready to hold people accountable for this shameful incident.

After months of peddling lies and conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, President Trump directly incited this siege on our Capitol. He instructed his supporters to stop the certification of the presidential election, leading to a violent attempt to undermine our democracy and the votes of millions of Americans across the county.

The president has failed at the most fundamental part of the job -- to support and defend the Constitution. For years he has eroded trust in our institutions and stoked the flames of hatred, all leading up to this moment.

Today I'm joining the growing bipartisan call for the president's immediate removal from office under the 25th amendment or impeachment process. We cannot allow this dangerous presidency to continue any longer.
