I hope you had a chance to hear President Trump’s speech [[link removed]] before the United Nations yesterday. It might have been the best of his presidency, and it is just another example of why Democrats and the deep-state establishment want him gone... and why he must be re-elected.
“The future doesn't belong to globalists. The future belongs to patriots.” – President Trump [[link removed]]
With congressional Democrats moving forward efforts to impeach President Trump, at least one Republican is fighting back. U.S. Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Terrell) has filed a resolution calling for the removal of the Democrat chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. As Cary Cheshire reports [[link removed]], Gooden’s resolution is based on the fact that while the U.S. House has thus far not authorized impeachment proceedings, New York Democrat Jerry Nadler is doing so anyway.
Fort Worth’s scandal-plagued congresswoman is getting a primary challenge. Successful Colleyville businessman and former city councilman Chris Putnam announced yesterday he will take on U.S. Rep. Kay Granger in the 2020 Republican Primary. Granger’s congressional activities and son are at the center of questions surrounding a wasteful and opaque local government agency involving hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars. Cary Cheshire has the details [[link removed]].
Granger’s voting record on life [[link removed]], taxes, and spending has put her at the bottom of Texas’ Republican congressional delegation. This year Granger has been voting with Democrats to undermine conservative efforts and the agenda of President Donald Trump, further eroding her lackluster record.
“If socialist Democrats are the biggest threat to our American way of life, co-opted Republican moderates are a close second.” – Chris Putnam [[link removed]]
In the name of “bipartisanship,” should Republicans back Democrat calls for impeaching President Trump? In the name of “unity,” should Republicans look the other way while Rep. Granger and her cronies abuse the taxpayers?
No. And no.

After nearly three months of intense public backlash, the Austin City Council is continuing to refuse to amend their ordinance allowing homeless camping. The city allows homeless people to set up tents and other encampments in public rights of way – though notably not around City Hall. As Jacob Asmussen reports [[link removed]], the situation has created public safety issues and dangerous situations for visitors, residents, and the homeless themselves.
The results of the 2019 legislative session were described this summer as “purple” by Austin businessman Don Dyer [[link removed]] – not enough conservative wins to make it “red” despite commanding GOP majorities in both chambers and every statewide office held by a Republican.
That sentiment has been echoed by groups across the spectrum of policy issues. According to the Texas Home School Coalition [[link removed]], “pro-family reforms were knowingly left to die” by Republican lawmakers in both the Texas House and Senate.
“This year, the powers that be promised that things would be better. Instead, they were worse.” – Texas Home School Coalition [[link removed]] Number of the Day
36
Number of members elected to the United States House of Representatives from Texas, of whom 23 are Republicans.
