Yesterday was a day that America will never forget.
We knew that Trump would do anything to keep his election fraud lies and conspiracies alive within his support base. We knew that these messages could spread hate, violence, and danger to the American people. Yesterday, MAGA supporters heard Trump’s call to violence and stormed into the Capitol building.
Within Trump’s 4 years in office, he built a platform based on hate and prejudice. He has proven time and time again that he is unfit to hold the office. Yesterday, Trump used his platform to incite a domestic terrorist attack. He hid in the White House as the Capitol was breached, and only continued to energize these attacks later on social media.
This failed coup is a direct result of Trump’s actions. This was an assault on American Democracy.
Our organization was founded based on the fundamental value that we need to hold our politicians accountable. We formed the Trump Impeachment Task Force in 2019, and we are not afraid to keep fighting the Impeachment Fight. Trump should be arrested for inciting the domestic terrorism that unfolded at our Capitol.
The horrific events that occurred yesterday prove that Trump and his supporters are not going away. We have the foundation to rebuild from his administration. We elected President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, and flipped the Senate with Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock. We have the tools we need to heal, but we must keep The Resistance alive.
Thank you for your support over these past 4 years. We are so grateful for the way that Democrats have mobilized and organized to remove these dangerous people from power. There is no way it could have been done without your support.
We know our fight is not over, and we will continue to directly counter Trump’s actions for the good of the American people. It’s time to rebuild our country after Trump tore it down.
