Happy New Year, John.
I’m walking into this year with righteous rage and a whole lot of hope. Yesterday’s failed coup was scary. Read our statement about it. Despite being utterly exhausted, 110 people joined my co-workers and I on a call to stop Line 3. I heard over and over, “I needed to be in community.” And so we were: listening to each other’s stories, singing, and practicing action together.
I left the meeting feeling connected and very clear: to build a different world, one where everyone can live a life of joy and dignity, we need each other, and we must be in deep relationship with each other.

There's so much at stake, and I believe that by building with each other, we can win big. What’s keeping you grounded and hopeful as we head into this new year? Email me to let me know. I love hearing from you!

Our revolution will be joyful. If you’re in need of some rejuvenation, join us at our People’s Sing-a-long. Through music, we can restore our spirits and be in joyful community together. I’m so excited to sing with TakeAction members Kestrel Feiner-Home and Sarina Partridge. We’ll also get to sing with the Resistance Revivial Chorus. Their song, This Joy, kept me going through this past election and I imagine I’ll be listening to it often in the days to come.
